Manchester, NH – From Friday, September 7th, through Sunday, September 9th, Senator John Edwards will campaign across New Hampshire. Tomorrow, in Hillsborough, Senator Edwards will discuss his bold counterterrorism plan to keep America safer. Edwards will unveil the counterterrorism plan in a major speech at Pace University in New York City earlier in the day before flying to New Hampshire to talk with voters.
Throughout the weekend, John Edwards will continue to build momentum as he receives the official endorsement of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. In the last week, Edwards has earned the endorsement of four major unions, putting him over the 2 million member mark for union support – the largest bloc of any presidential candidate. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners represent more than 520,000 members nationally and over 2,100 members in New Hampshire. Thanks to his strong leadership on the issues and his standing as the candidate best positioned to win in the general election, Edwards has also received the endorsements of the United Steelworkers, the United Mine Workers of America, and the Transport Workers Union of America.
John Edwards' trip to New Hampshire this weekend follows Elizabeth Edwards' participation in grassroots events in New Hampshire over three days this past week and a wildly successful 'Fighting for One America' bus tour that made 17 stops in New Hampshire over four days, culminating in a 1,000-person rally in Portsmouth.
