Chapel Hill, North Carolina – On Thursday, September 27th, Senator John Edwards will be the first presidential candidate to participate in MySpace and MTV's inaugural Presidential Candidate Dialogue. In an innovative interactive twist, questions will be submitted by audience members who have signed up for tickets through Edwards' MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/johnedwards), as well as from online users in real-time via MySpaceIM and MTV.com. The forum will be moderated by MTV News Correspondents SuChin Pak and Gideon Yago as well as WashingtonPost.com political reporter, Chris Cillizza. Industry-leading pollsters John McLaughlin and Geoffrey Garin will oversee real-time polling of online users, gauging their opinions of each response. The kick-off event featuring Edwards will be webcast live on both MySpaceTV and MTV.com. It will be broadcast later in the day on MTV and mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network.
The MySpace-MTV event with Edwards is part of a multi-day tour through New Hampshire. Wednesday, Edwards will participate in the MSNBC debate in Dartmouth, New Hampshire. Following the MySpace-MTV debate on Thursday, Edwards will embark on a two-day 'Economic Fairness for the North Country' barnstorm to discuss his bold ideas to help New Hampshire's middle class and working families get truly universal health care and quality education, and build an economy that works for rural America.
During the tour, Edwards will be joined by Grammy Award-winning musician Ralph Stanley II, the IBMA award-winning Bluegrass Brothers, and former Democratic Congressman Ben Jones, who played "Cooter" on the Dukes of Hazzard. The details of the event are:
