John Edwards' Parents Bobbie And Wallace Talk With Granite Staters About Edwards' Upbringing And Roots

On second day of two-day NH campaign swing, Edwards' parents tell Granite Staters why his working class upbringing in rural towns makes him the best candidate for president

Manchester, NH – Senator John Edwards' parents Bobbie and Wallace Edwards attended Graniteroots campaign events across New Hampshire today, telling voters about John Edwards' childhood and life experiences that have prepared him to be the best candidate for president.

"Wallace and I could not be more proud of John," said Edwards' mother, Bobbie. "We taught him never to forget where he came from. That's why he's talking about how to end poverty and protect our middle class – because he's fighting for our friends and family and the people he grew up with."

Today, Senator Edwards' parents met with Granite Staters in Franconia, Berlin and Concord. Yesterday they visited Laconia, Center Sandwich and Jackson.

"John asked us to visit Berlin and the North Country on this trip because he knows that working Americans in every part of the country are facing the same challenges," said Edwards' father, Wallace. "I worked in mills all my life, and John joined me when he was growing up. We both know how it feels when these mills close their doors and workers lose their jobs – we saw it firsthand."

John Edwards is the only candidate to grow up in a rural town, and his firsthand experiences make him the best candidate to fight for working and middle class Americans. He has proposed bold and comprehensive plans to end poverty in America, rebuild our nation's middle class, protect American jobs, and much more.
