Dec 17, 2007 2:38 PM

Inspired by the enthusiasm generated by Edwards' discussion of economic issues during the Des Moines Register debate on Thursday, new ad highlights commitment to fight for the middle class as America rises to meet the challenges before us

Manchester, NH – Today, the day before John Edwards returns to New Hampshire accompanied by Cate Edwards, Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne, the Edwards campaign released 'Fight,' its sixth new ad since the summer. The ad features John Edwards speaking directly to New Hampshire voters about the epic battle we face to strengthen the middle class in this country and return the power in Washington to everyday working families. It will air on broadcast and cable across New Hampshire.

"Our country faces huge challenges and the great moral test of our generation is how we will tackle them," said New Hampshire state director Beth Leonard. "John Edwards believes that the great thing about America is that when the American people are faced with an obstacle, they stand up, speak up and rise up to overcome it. Together, we can bring about the change that America needs and return the power in Washington to middle class families."

John Edwards will return to New Hampshire this Tuesday and Wednesday with his daughter Cate Edwards and musicians Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne. For a full list of events, click here: http://www.johnedwards.com/events/

Full script of 'Fight':

This isn't about petty politics or good intentions.

Corporate greed and influence in Washington are stealing our children's future.

The moral test of our generation is whether we're going to allow this broken system to go on without a fight or take on corporate greed and stand up for the middle class and American jobs before it's too late.

They aren't going to just give their power away.

Saving the middle class is going to be an epic battle, and that's a fight I was born for.

I'm John Edwards, and I approved this message.
